What is the Collaborative Promise? The Collaborative Promise represents the ASB's dedication to improving the communication and cooperation between the three branches in order to better meet the needs of our students.
How does the Collaborative Promise Work? Throughout the month, on Monday and Thursday nights, representatives within the ASB who work on similar issues will meet in a forum setting, open to the student body. Each Collaborative Promise team is focused on a certain issue area on campus. These issue areas are Academics, Athletics, External Affairs, Infrastructure and Sustainability, Inclusion and Cross Cultural Engagement, and Student Life. The Collaborative Promise teams for each of these issue areas are comprised of the relevant Senate Committee Chair, Cabinet Principal, and University Standing Committee Representative.
When and where are the forums? Academics will be on the first Monday and Infrastructure will be on the first Thursday of each month; External Affairs will be on the second Monday and Athletics on the second Thursday of each month; Student Life will be on the third Monday and ICCE on the third Thursday of each month. The meetings take place from 5:30-6:30 at the ASB Office in Minor Hall. For a monthly view, visit our Upcoming Events. We encourage all students to attend.
What can I expect to happen if I attend a Collaborative Promise meeting? Once your concern or idea is voiced to the representatives, proper research will commence to be conducted, and the proposal will enter into our idea tracker. There, you will be able to follow your idea in real time, should it move through the Senate, to the Executive Branch, and then to the Administration.
